IOSH Managing Safely

Health & Safety Works new 'Managing Safely' course has been designed to meet the needs of managers, supervisors or persons responsible for managing safety within their organisation.

It will provide managers and team leaders an insight to the different aspects of safety management and the efficient ways in which to control hazards.

The three day course is split, with sessions running one day a week, over 3 weeks:

The course covers: 

- Assessing risks

- Controlling risks

- Understanding responsibilities

- Understanding hazards

- Investigating incidents

- Measuring performance

This is an interactive course which will give mangers an excellent background in safety issues. On successful completion of a project based on the workplace and a written assessment delegates will receive an IOSH Certificate.

2019 - 2020 observed 55% of all lost working days attributed to work related mental ill health. Workload, lack of support, violence, threats or bullying and changes at work are estimated to be the main causes of work-related stress, depression or anxiety based on 2009/10-2011/12 LFS data. This shows a marked increase over previous years.
